How to troubleshoot my Wave RFID Handheld Reader?
THE PROBLEM
Have you been experiencing some difficulty in using the Wave Handheld Reader? If so, you've come to the right spot. In here, we've collated some of the common issues you might have been encountering with Wave.
HELP! MY READER IS NOT SCANNING OR PICKING UP TAGS
There are a number of reasons why this happens outside of the app and hardware itself --- there could be heavy interference, RFID tags are not placed in a not so ideal material; the list goes on. We've listed several best practices in order for you to avoid that. In case there are still ongoing issues, you can follow the steps below:
- Restart your CS108 RFID and Barcode Reader. On the right hand of the gun, there's a blue button. Press and hold that for a few seconds and it should turn off afterwards. Press and hold the same button to restart the reader.
- Restart the Wave app. Go to your iOS device and either tap the home button twice (for iPod Touch) or swipe up on the screen. Once you see the list of previous app you've used, look for the Wave app. When you've found the Wave app on the list, swipe up on the selection to clear it from memory. Once you've completed that step, open up your Wave app again.
- In the Quick Tag tab, select the Tag ID field. Then, hold down the trigger and move the antenna within 1" of an RFID tag.
- If the device is still not scanning, attempt the same scan with a different RFID Tag. Kindly make sure that the RFID tags that you are using are UHF Gen 2 RAIN RFID tags.
